We've all stepped into the New Normal with a spring in our step - Let's keep up the Tempo!
Roll on Step 3 of Boris Johnson's 'Roadmap' for lifting restrictions on the hospitality industry. This is excellent news for holiday parks who will be able to re-open their leisure and dining facilites, further attracting those seeking a staycation after what has been a very long winter.
Step 3 - 17th May - Business Activities - Holiday Park facilities and amenitites can re-open. To include children's play areas, indoor pool & leisure activities along with indoor entertainment & hospitality. Easing of social contact restrictions set to allow indoor meeting of 6 or 2 households.
Step 4 - 21st June - Subject to the progress of the above we can all look forward to a New Normal but remember Covid will still remain influential in how we choose to holiday.
Welcome to the 'Year of the Staycation'
The Covid pandemic has been a gamechanger and we now look towards a 'New Normal'. The Government has set out very tight restrictions on foreign holidays and while this may be reviewed in the future it will only work if the holiday locations are prepared to accept visitors. Travelling abroad is likely to be complex and unfamiliar so there will be an increased number of people looking for a holiday break or holiday home in the UK.
Holiday Homes - Covid and Brexit
Brexit has almost been forgotten since Covid 19 but it is all going on behind the scenes and will have a major impact on the future of the UK holiday market, particularly for those with holiday homes abroad. With effect from 1st January 2021 all residents of the UK effectively became foreign visitors to Europe and are limited in the time they can spend there. The basic limit will be 90 days which, along with other restrictions, will have a major impact on those with holiday homes abroad as maintaining and visiting these will become more difficult. This will lead again to many relocating their investment to the UK which will be a major bonus for the Staycation Holiday Market.
